Nibble your Bits

This is not really a meal on its own - it's a side dish. Pretty good with any meal like Bogtastic Broccoli, or Crustless Quiche.

If you don't have any friends and are a bit of a loner make this NOW. You will have people walking in off the streets who will find you irresistable ... may even want to nibble your bits.

I can't believe they haven't used this recipe in talks between the Israelis and Palestinians ... the two leaders would be bumming each other before the end of the meal. Middle East problem solved.

If you already have shitloads of friends, I'd go easy with this one ... cook it in the early hours of the morning and eat it immediately ... in fact, probably safer to get in the oven and eat it while it's cooking to be completely secure.

You need

You can make this with either sweet potatoes or butternut squash or, if you are really crazy, use both.

  1. 1 butternut squash

  2. 3 or 4 sweet potatoes

  3. Some broccoli

  4. 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  5. 3 cloves of chopped or crushed garlic

  6. 1/2 tsp of dried chilli flakes (not powder)

  7. About 250ml single cream or creme fraiche

  8. Salt and black pepper

Do it

  1. Peel the butternut and sweet potatoes and cut into pieces and put into a baking dish with the broccoli.

  2. Mix the cream/creme fraiche, chilli flakes, olive oil, garlic, salt and black pepper and pour over the butternut and sweet potato pieces. Mix it up well so that all the pieces are well coated.

  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180oC (350oF for you Americans) for 25 minutes. Take it out and mix so that all the pieces are well covered again and put it in for another 20-25 minutes.

This is so quick and easy to prepare and . . . jeez!
